Med Food Co is preparing to put food on plates this Saturday when we appear at Sheffield’s Pop Up Dining experience, Temporary.  We are very excited to have been invited to Abbeydale Picture House on the 25th March 2017 by the Temporary team.  They run regular one off dining experiences around Sheffield which aim to showcase the local independent food scene.  We will cook and present a two course Mediterranean inspired sit down meal in this stunning Sheffield landmark.  At Med Food Co in Broomhill, we are used to serving our food in boxes to people on the go.  We really can’t wait to show our food on plates to the Temporary diners, who will spend a relaxed evening in a unique venue.  On the menu are a choice of two mains based on our rice boxes: grilled lamb served with smoked aubergine puree and feta cheese, or falafel served with hummus.  Both choices come with rice, salad and a taste of our flatbread which we bake daily at Med Food Co for our wraps.

We were asked to choose a welcome cocktail for guests at the event and are pleased to present our favourite, Turkish Delight, which was created by Sheffield Gin company Locksley Distilling at Lokanta for Christmas – a mix of the best Sheffield gin, mediterranean favourite Campari and Turkish flavoured rose lemonade, we think this is too good to keep just for the festive season!  Temporary Pop Ups are BYO and we would suggest a red wine, possibly a Merlot, would go well with our menu.  Or staying with the Abbeydale theme we could recommend local Abbeydale Brewery’s Pale Ale, Heathen.

Pudding will be a deliciously indulgent chocolate brownie with a touch of pistachio, baked in house at Med Food Co by our chef, Amy Wear, and served with or without a thick Mediterranean style yoghurt.  To book tickets for the event click here.
